Introduction

astateful is first and foremost a web development company. We offer a wide range of services to either companies or individuals that are looking to establish an online presence. These services can be custom web design work, custom programming work, or a combination of both. More information is available under our Services menu.

Secondly, astateful provides its source code, also named astateful, as GPL compatible software written in the popular language PHP. The source code forms the heart of the custom programming work we offer to our customers. More information on what the GPL means, how we use open source software in providing closed source solutions for your business, is available by visiting code.astateful.com. Our publicly viewable repository gives one access to not only our souce code, but also to the underlying framework of our websites. The repository is available at git.astateful.com.

Summer Update posted on 2010-07-26

There are many new exciting changes at astateful that we are pleased to bring you. First and foremost are the updates to the layout itself. We plan to stick with this design (or at least a variant of it) for a while. The design has been split into separate XML and XSL components to allow for easier updating. The documentation is now generated into XML and parsed via XSL. Many many new astateful framework updates, and there should be a new release very very soon. Still to come is multiple language support and a 'lite' version. Other areas need fixing. Please be patient and thanks for visiting!

New Website Design posted on 2010-05-25

Hello! As you may have noticed, the website is undergoing a revision in order to provide a simpler browsing experience. The development portion is going to be moved to the forefront in order to provide more support for the framework itself. We will also be scaling back the web services we are offering, focusing instead on providing simply custom solutions using our source. Thank you for being patient!

Thanks! posted on 2010-05-11

Thanks to those who have so far downloaded the astateful source! There was a strange spike in the number of downloads; it could be people, or it could be a script...who knows! We hope you can begin experimenting with it in your projects. That being said, there is a new improvement that we would like to begin working on, in which a directory for the states is provided, rather than having to manually add them in the PHP.

Also we hope to begin working on a proper PHP extension, since this is more or less the ultimate goal of the project. Finally, if you have some improvements or suggestions, please don't hesitate to share. We are so far disappointed by the lack of community involvement!

Update posted on 2010-04-18

Hello! There is not much news to report regarding the framework...unfortunately I forgot to include a configuration variable in the last release, so I may make a small bug fix to the current version. Other than that, the code in its present form is quite stable and usable for for many tasks so please give it a try.

However, there is still a significant bug _somewhere_ that relates to how the variables are being parsed but is really only apparent with many states and variables; we will solve this in due time. We would also like to have available optional logging support, since the logs can become quite large. These are overall small changes. Cheers!
